Rather than buy loads of new clothes, take a look at which of these maternity staples you should get and how to wear the ones you probably already have hanging in your closet.
Piling on the layers is always essential in the winter months, especially when your body temperature is fluctuating because of pregnancy. To get into maternity layering, you should stock up on maternity t-shirts with various necklines, colours and styles. 100% cotton tops are always a good idea and are kind to your skin. If you prefer a tighter fit, try a cotton blend with a bit of stretch. Its a good idea to buy extra long t-shirts too, so that they can see you through into your second trimester.

Ponchos are perfect for maternity winter dressing, as they are like wearing a huge cozy blanket! They drape nicely around your body and baby bump. Sweater dresses are also great for dressing your growing bump.
Jeans and Trousers
Maternity jeans are a must, but there are many other trousers and pants out there that are super stylish. With many styles to choose from, including skinny cords and leather leggings, they can be a great way to look festive when paired with a smart top or even a basic tee. Invest in something with a waist that can expand, so they can grow with you and you can get more for your money. Styles with a full stretch panel can be really comfy and lycra will give you plenty of stretch.
Wrap up warm in an oversized cardigan, what could be more cozy? While lying on the sofa relaxing or going out for a coffee, an oversized cardigan is great for layering too.
A shirt dress will look great over leggings and can be layered. Stylish yet comfortable the shirt dress is something you will be able to wear for work or for relaxing at the weekends.

Skip that morning cup of coffee, which can be dehydrating, and drink a glass of ice water instead. Tip 8: Get glossy. If your hair never manages to look shiny, it'll always lend a drab, tired vibe to your look. Prior to launching our website and even 3 years later as I type this, i've watched my body as it has fluctuated up and down the size chart. 1. A WRAP DRESS
A wrap dress whittles the waist, flatters curves, and turns you into a bombshell. If your petite try reaching for a midi or mini wrap dress or if you are curvier or pear shaped look for a maxi wrap dress.
Wether you prefer prints or solids, this dress can be worn to work, but can also be dressed up for an after-work event, a wedding, or date night.
With the growing popularity of this style, the classic wrap dress has morphed into a variety of wrap-ish dresses too. In my experience, most of our customers have made up their mind as to whether or not they should or should not wear a wrap dress based on their body type.
Nonetheless, there are so many wrap and wrap-ish dresses out there, I urge you to try a few different styles next time you’re on the hunt for a dress. Don’t make the mistake of lumping all wrap dresses in together; they are not all created equal. Typically, you'll find that there are, of course, the tried-and-true wrap dresses that actually wrap and tie or belt. Then, there are wrap-ish dresses that are sewn together but still tie or belt. This can be a blessing and a curse — the more spandex there is in an item, the more it will stretch (and, depending on how it’s made, even reshrink again upon each washing). We love the added detailing of
4. Elastic Waist Bottoms
I’m talking pants, skirts and even dresses with an elasticised waist can cope with weight fluctuations and be super forgiving. You can wear them higher or lower too depending on how you feel.
For example, I fluctuate mainly in my thighs and tummy. I find that wearing an elasticised skirt higher, at the narrowest point of my waist, is much more flattering than wearing it lower, around my waist. If I manage to lose a little bloat and have a flatter stomach, the same skirt can be worn lower on my hips.
Likewise, jogger style pants with a drawstring or elasticised waist – which are thankfully an on trend casual street style must – give you more room to move than a fitted, tight pair of jeans. We also love a high waisted wide leg pant. It hugs the narrowest part of the waist and makes for a chic and timeless look when tucked with a neutral relaxed fit blouse
Tunics tend to be forgiving and flowy, but are styled to look that way. (see below) This is an important point. You don’t want to start buying things two sizes too big to cover up the fact that you’ve gained weight. You won’t be fooling anyone and it won’t look good. Tunics are also wearable despite weight gain and loss– When in doubt for casual wear just remember this tried and true math equation:
